Guilty. Absolutely guilty. I admit letting this blog collect dust after the Olympics. *Blushing in shame*
I'll get on track as soon as possible.
It's the end of the first period in Chicago between the Washington Capitals and Chicago Blackhawks with the Hawks leading by 2. This was due to some massive powerplays(the Hawks are known to be the best at it in the league). The first goal was made about 2 seconds after a faceoff on the left side in front of the Capitals net. Toews (#19 - Blackhawks) won the faceoff, then the puck made a round about with the Hawks and passed it back to Toews, then into the net past Capitals' goalie, Jose Theodore. It was a beaut!
Be back later with update of the game.

Forgot to mention about the game misconduct Alex Ovechkin (#8 - Capitals) got for pushing Brian Campbell(#54 - Blackhawks) in the first period. Ovechkin charged on Campbell from halfway across the ice and from behind. Campbell flew straight into the boards! I definitely winced when I saw it. Ovechkin knew he was in trouble afterwards. And just stayed put and waited for the referees to cuff him. There's still a lot of debate going on right now of whether Ovechkin deserved 5 minutes and a game misconduct for this. Ovechkin is known to play ... rough. A game misconduct means ejection from the game. See you later, Ovie. According to NHL rules, 3 game misconducts will result in missing one game.
Into the third period and now the Caps tied the game 3-3. The Caps scored 3 in minutes!!

END of third period and now we are into overtime to settle this score.

Scored settled. 4-3 Caps. Ovechkin's team won in front of Chi-town. Niklas Backstrom (on the Sweden Olympic team) scored the winning goal. His second goal of the game. Now this is a comeback, after going into the third period and down by 3. It's not over until it's over.
Happy New Year!
